Research Team SPiRIT

The research group SPiRIT – Science Projects in Radio and Information Technology is an interdisciplinary institution of the Institute of Management and the Institute of Electrical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal. It was founded in summer 2012 by Michael Herzog and Olaf Friedewald as a think tank and project forge with an international orientation.

The current focus is placed on research projects for teaching and learning with digital media. To this end, innovative solutions are being developed in the areas of sustainable economic activity, inclusion and digital competence in vocational training, virtual collaboration tools and context-sensitive systems (NFC/RFID/AutoID).

The work of the SPiRIT research group is mainly based on third-party funded projects in collaboration with companies and research institutions. It promotes the interdisciplinary work of young scientists and motivated students, for example with excellent supervision of research and development projects or international networking in the context of Virtual Research Learning. The experienced team members are particularly committed to project-oriented teaching. They also teach the basics of their respective fields of work, often in other disciplines.

The team regularly invites to colloquia and other events, to which interested students, scientists and entrepreneurs are cordially invited!
