Prof. Dr.Ing. Michael A. Herzog

Michael A. Herzog is a tenured full professor for Information Systems Engineering. He serves as the Vice Dean for research at the Department of Economics and is a member of the Academic Senate at the Magdeburg-Stendal University. He regularly works as Guest Faculty at Old Dominion University Norfolk and at the EILAB of Ontario Tech University. His research focuses on Technology Enhanced Learning, Interaction Systems, IoT-Technology, and IT-supported Sustainability. He founded and leads the interdisciplinary SPIRIT research group and is the chair of the study program Digital Business Management. Earlier he founded and led three software and media companies in Germany and Italy. Michael holds a PhD in information systems and M.Sc. in computer science from Technical University Berlin. He published 11 books and over 60 peer-reviewed research papers in international conference proceedings and scientific journals and is a fellow at the Alcatel-Lucent-Foundation for communication research since 2006. His research was recognized with multiple awards, including the Multimedia-Award of the University of Potsdam in 2004, and the Research Award 2018 of Magdeburg-Stendal University.
